What does "quantity not sufficient" mean?

A “quantity-not-sufficient” or "QNS" result indicated that there was not enough specimen provided to run the test.

This could be due to collection error (ex: not fully saturating a blood card), a specimen could have spilled in transit, or the lab could be running a panel that requires multiple tests be run on the same sample and there is simply not enough to complete the full panel. In the case of the later, you may receive partial results for the tests in the panel the lab was able to run and a "QNS" result for the test the lab was not able to run.
