What does "test not performed" mean?

A "test not performed" or TNP result indicates that the lab was not able to process your sample.

This may be due to a number of reasons, but often it is an issue with the integrity of the sample, such as spilling or contamination during transit, hemolyzation (blood) or expiration of the sample. In some cases, the lab may release a "test not performed" result if there is not enough quantity of sample to process it, also referred to as "quantity not sufficient" or "QNS."
